The meeting point was a few hundred metres from the Coliseum and 15 to 20 minutes (downhill) walk from Rome Termini station or 5 minutes from the Coliseum metro station. If the weather is poor I suggest you wear waterproof shoes or something with good grip as the basalt road can be wet or puddled. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable but the sound quality on the headsets was a little muffled. “Really good tour that focused a lot on the gladiators, which my teenage son loved. It was also good to be able to go on the arena floor. The Colosseum is crazy busy whatever time you go so be prepared for that. But our guide was really good and managed to find some space so we didn’t always feel swamped. We spent 1 hour with our guide and then he left us at the exit to keep exploring if we so wished. He gave us tickets for Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum which we also really enjoyed walking around.”
